DIY: The Rainbow Keys

I found this at pinterest.com and decided to give it a try. My keys could definitely need the pimping. Since I've been looking for a DIY project lately, I thought I should share this one. Everyone with nail polish just laying around, never being used, could do this. So easy and it looks great when finished.
I call this project "The Rainbow Keys", like it?

Separate the keys from the key chain and clean with a tissue or acetone for a good base.

Wrap the tape around the edges of the actual key part that is used to lock and unlock, to keep the nail polish from messing it up.

Start applying the nail polish of your choice to the different keys. I did two layers, and this way the bright color of the polish was more visible to the naked eye.

I set them out to dry. If you would like the polish to dry and harden faster, then I recommend holding it under ice cold water. My mom thought me that.

And voilá! The finished product. My inspiration for the colors was my key chain. You could do this every season as well, adding a little personality to your everyday keys.
I was very pleased with the result.

Let me know if you try it and good luck!
